Have you seen the new Barbie movie yet? Whether you love it or hate it, I have to point out my favorite part (mini spoiler-alert if you haven't seen it :)
The hit movie's last line is Barbie saying "I'm here to see my gynecologist!" What a fabulous way to normalize, and even make joyful, the very human experience of taking care of one's pelvic health.
Embarrassment and shame are still so pervasive when it comes to this part of the body, often preventing people from seeking care. So how cool that the director #GretaGerwig chose this line to relate Barbie's humanness! Love it.
Getting help
Pelvic floor problems are so incredibly common, yet many people hesitate to get help because of the intimate nature of this area of the body. They might believe it's too intimate of an area to get help there. Or that their problem is "normal" because it's so common. Or there is nothing to be done about it.
Don't fall for those myths. There are muscles in the pelvic floor which affect all the important business going on in the pelvis, and the beauty of it is that you can strengthen these muscles, just as you would your arm and leg muscles to get better! Even better news—you can do it all from home.
Schedule time to talk with me and let's take care of your pelvic health. Let's go!
